Community Outreach

In the USA, CapitalSource Small Business Lending works to advance small businesses through our many loan products. However, we also recognize that small business loans can have a major impact throughout the world, particularly in developing countries where credit can be difficult or expensive to obtain. We believe private business and entrepreneurship is the best way to provide independence and opportunity, and create prosperity.

To do our part, CapitalSource Small Business Lending makes loans through Kiva.org to provide opportunity to individuals outside the U.S. Micro lending is different from state sponsored financial assistance. Micro lending is free of bureaucracy, and provides direct support while fostering free market principals. It is an effective, low cost method of breaking the cycle of poverty.

Individual loans for as little as $25 dollars will be combined with loans from others, and the total amount provided to the borrower. Once repaid in 6 to 12 months, the money can be used again to fulfill the dream of another deserving entrepreneur.
